Birds!!/鳥！！

On the forth floor or so in the building where the language center I'm studying is, there's an outdoor balcony with some tables and chairs.  I was sitting there the other day and talking with a friend when a Light-Vented Bulbul (that's its real English name, I looked it up) stopped by to say hi.  It's not in any way a rare bird in Tainan--I see them all the time--but this is the closest I've ever been to one, and it was pretty sunny out, so I was able to get some decent photos.

這一隻是「白頭翁」還是「白頭鵯」。臺灣人的朋友看到這張照片、可能就覺得把這隻鳥拍到得、有哪裡值得？在臺南一點少有都沒有。可是、目前我都沒有這麼近距離地看過。還有、我原鄉紐約也沒有這種、所以對我來說、還有嶄新性。因為這天蠻晴天、所以拍得也不錯吧。

この鳥はシロガシラと言う。（漢字は多分「白頭」だろう。）沖縄に住んでいる日本人にはもしかして馴染みが有るだろうけど、内地の人はもしかして見た事が無いかもしれない。台湾ではちっとも珍しくない鳥だ。だいたい毎日キャンパスで見掛ける。ただ、今まではこんなに近くには見ていない。また、ニューヨーカーの私にとっては、ニューヨークに居ないこの鳥はめっちゃ斬新の感じがする。
この日、私は華語中心が有る建物のバルコニーにいて、友達と喋っていた。その時、この一匹が現れて来て、挨拶して呉れた。私は早速友達を無視して（しゃみこちゃん、ごめんね！）カメラを出して写真を撮り始めた。太陽も出ていたので、なかなかいい感じに成った。

あっ、これはただの鳩だけど、、、
