Pigeons and the Hudson Valley /

Let's start out with a couple of pigeon photos!

I went upstate to the Columbia County area for a week after staying in New York City for two weeks.  I was camping (sort of; I was in a tent at any rate) up there, and I saw this Daddy Longlegs on my tent.  (Apparently they can be called "Harvestmen" too, though I've never heard anyone use that name.)

Farm equipment

???  I don't remember why I took this.

Now this is more like it!  Flowers and bugs!

This hardware store is older than the United States itself.  I assume that the building is significantly newer, but the store has been in existence for hundreds of years.  Or so I was told.

A beautiful home.  The thoughtful owner has left out an American flag to help us know what country we are in.

Glasswork in a bar

Flowers.  And another flag, just in case you thought you had wandered into Canada by mistake.

An old town hall.  (And, yes, we are still in America.)

Old industrial buildings by a railroad.

A church with a partially-dismantled steeple.

This graveyard was filled with flags that were not the flag of these United States.  They were red with some yellow on them, so I started to get confused that I might be in China.

This place was pretty cool.  It's the Taconic Sculpture Park.  It's all done by one guy.  A lot of his sculptures feature themes based on Greek mythology.

I really liked the castle.

The Sky and the Earth, mother and father of the Titans.

A giant head that you can walk into through a door behind the ear.

More to come!
