Greenwood and the Met / グリーンウード＋ザメット / 綠蔭公墓和大都會藝術博物館

有一天我騎腳踏車去位於布魯克林的綠蔭公墓。路途我看到下面的學校。

I went on a bike ride out to Greenwood Cemetery in Brooklyn one day when I was back in NYC.  On the way out I saw this school building.  You can recognize public school buildings in NYC because they all seem to have the exact same design of window gates.  Some contractor got rich off of that.

ニューヨーク帰っている間にある日ブルックリンにあるグリーンウード墓地にサイクリングして行ってみた。途中でこの学校見かけた。ニューヨークの公立学校はみんな窓に同じ様な網が付いているみたい。子供の時通った小学校もこれと同じだった。

我來這個公墓是因為這扇門。我為了看住在門上的居民來了。牠們是和尚鸚鵡。原本牠們是從阿根廷來的，但是已經住在紐約幾十年。因為和尚鸚鵡是亞熱帶的動物，所以跟一般的鸚鵡比起來，比較能應付冬天冷的地方。

 And here's the cemetery's main gate!  This was actually my whole reason for coming out here.  Not the gate itself, but its residents.  The gate is home to a bunch of Monk Parakeets.  These are parrots from sub-tropical Argentina who are able to survive cold well enough that they have established themselves in New York.  The cemetery has one of the biggest colonies, and I was hoping to see some of them and get some photos.

墓地の玄関門に到着した！この門が目的でここに来ることにした。門自体ももちろん美しいが、もっと興味あるのは門の住民だ。オキナインコが棲んでいる。オキナインコは元々アルゼンチンのインコだけど、何十年前からニューヨークに棲み着いた。亜熱帯の種類だから、インコにもかかわらずニューヨークの冬を耐えることができる。インコの写真撮りたかったからここに来たわけ。

Well, the gate itself is pretty too.

大門也很漂亮。

 You can see the parrots' big nests.

我喜歡凱爾特十字。好美麗。

 I like these kinds of Celtic-cross type gravestones.

ケルティッククロスのお墓。

雖然我在公墓等很久，但我只拍了兩張鸚鵡的照片。有可能因為下午比較熱所以牠們沒有那麼活潑。看到的也都是在樹上還是塔上，所以我沒辦法靠近拍照。

 The two photos below are the best photos I managed to get of the parrots.  Unfortunately, they were not super active when I was there.  (It was the middle of the afternoon and rather hot.)  And the few I saw were far away on top of the gate, or on tree tops.  I'd like to have gotten a better photo, but this is the best I could do.

残念なことに、した下の二枚はもっともよく撮れたインコの写真だ。夏の暑い午後だったので、インコ達はあまり活躍しなかったし、見かけたインコはみんな木の上とか塔の上とかに乗っていたんだ。こんな微妙な写真しか撮れなかった。

指天的石像很有趣。

 I love this statue that's pointing up to the sky.

何指差しているのだろうか？

我也去大都會藝術博物館。夏天可以出屋頂上看看。這天雲很美。

 I went to the Met while I was back in the city, and I took some photos while I was up on the rooftop. It was a beautiful sunny day with fluffy summer clouds.

ザメット（メトロポリタン美術館）にも行った。ここは美術館の屋上だ。夏に開放されている。夏の雲はやっぱり綺麗だな。

下左的女生盯視我，因為有她所以這張有趣。

I didn't think much of this photo until I noticed the woman in the corner staring right at the camera.  She makes this photo.  So thank you, whoever you are.

下の写真は最初あまり何も特別な印象なかったが、左下の女性がめっちゃカメラ目線と気づいたら、気に入ってきた。

Old buildings

古い建物

以前算高的大樓比不上最新的大樓那麼高。

 Old buildings overshadowed by new buildings.

古い建物の側に新しい建物が聳え立っている。

不是屋頂壞了，這是這裡的美術品。

 They had one of the security guards working up here, I guess so that people wouldn't step in the puddle?  (It's an art puddle.)

ガードが水溜りを見張っている。屋根が壊れたんじゃなくて、これが屋上のアート。

コントラストを極端的に上げた版。

 I liked the puddle and the floating rock in a tank.  It looked very nice under the clear, summer sky.

最後兩張是在捷運站裡拍的。我把顏色調節看看，變好了一點。

 I didn't know where else to put these photos, so here are two photos of the tilework in the Lafayette Ave. station.  I messed around with the color settings a bit, and I think it improved them quite a bit.

最後の二枚はあるブルックリンの地下鉄の駅で撮った写真だ。一応今日のポストに無理矢理入れとく。色の設定を調節して、いい感じになってきた。
