Tie Non: Revisiting Cijin Lighthouse/旗津灯台に再訪問/再去旗津燈塔

我去馬祖以前已經喜歡燈塔，但是跟我一起去馬祖的人是去之後才知道燈塔的魅力。結果我們回台南之後他開始說「要去看更多燈塔！」好，當然我歡迎這個變化。幾個禮拜前我們去高雄，看旗津燈塔。其實，這次不是第一次，但是好久都沒有去，再說當天天氣非常好，所以我同意再去看看。

After visiting Matsu and seeing not one, but two beautiful lighthouses, my travel partner for the trip finally wised-up to the attraction of visiting lighthouses. (I, of course, have been aware of their splendor for years already.) Upon returning to Tainan, she said that she wanted to visit more. We decided to immediately head to Kaohsiung to see the Cijin Lighthouse.

私はずっと前から灯台が好きだけど、この間馬祖に行った時、一緒に行ってきた人も好きになって、台南に帰ってから「もっと灯台に行ってみたい」と本人が積極的に言い出した。これを喜んで聞いて、早速高雄の旗津灯台に行って来た。私は以前行ったことがあるが、久ぶりに行っていないし、当日は天気が非常にいいから、すごくよかった。

去旗津的話，先去西子灣再搭船過去。這天天氣真的太好了，天空都是晴晴青青的。

I had visited Cijin Lighthouse before, but it had been a long time, and the weather was gorgeously sunny. The first step was to go to Sizihwan, and then to take a ferry from there.

まずは高雄の西子湾に行って、フェリーを乗って渡って行く。

到了旗津我們走到燈塔。在高雄火車站我問旅遊服務員工燈塔到幾點開，他上網告訴我四點。因為那時候已經三點了，所以我們很急去旗津。後來發現那個員工說的都是錯的。夏天應該到六點多才關門。

We got to Cijin and walked to the lighthouse. We were rather in a hurry because one of the people at the tourist information center in Kaohsiung Station had misinformed us that the lighthouse closed at 4:00. It turned out to be nothing like that (I think it was more like 6:30). I don't know what in the world she was looking at online that she came up with an answer like 4:00. Moral of the story: Do your own research and don't depend on anyone for anything ever.

旗津島に着いたら、灯台まで徒歩して行く。高雄駅のインフォメーションセンターでは、四時に閉まると言われたからめっちゃ焦って急いで来たが、後でその情報が間違っていると分かった。（本当は6時過ぎまでだった。）時々台湾のインフォメーションセンターは本当に当てにならない、、、専門のはずなのに、、、

The red roof is the old Takao British Consulate building. (Takao being the former name for Kaohsiung.)

元打狗英国大使館の赤い屋根が見える。（高雄の名前は日本統治時代以前「打狗」だった。）

灯台は元々1883年（清朝時代）に建てられた。1916-1918日本政府は改造した。この看板を見る限りでは、それが最近の改造（以来は電灯を替えたりした作業だけ）。だから建物自体は大正時代のものみたい。

旗津是一座很狹長的島嶼。燈塔在北部，下面的照片是向看南方的。

Cijin is a long, thin island at the mouth of Kaohsiung harbor. It protects the harbor from the open ocean, only allowing ships in through to thin entrances at the north and south of the island. The lighthouse is on the northern tip of the island, so here we're looking south at the rest of the island.

旗津島は高雄港の入り口にある細長い島だ。島の北端と南端に船が通れる出入り口がある。灯台は島の北部にあって、下の写真は南を向いて撮った。
