Sanshangwowang etc. / 三山国王廟など / 三山國王廟等

這些是幾週前在台南拍的照片。都是我隨便逛街時遇到的東西。第一張是立人國小。這個學校是日本統治下比較早建立的。1898年就已經建成。但是這棟建築應該是1938年改建的吧。名字也不是原本的，到了1968年才改名到現在的「立人國民小學」。很帥的建築，我羨慕每天在這裡可以上課的學生。

Here are some photos I took while wandering around Tainan a couple weeks back.  The first one is of Liren Elementary School.  This school was originally established by the Japanese government in 1898, but the current building is from 1938.  It's a very cool-looking building, and I envy the kids who get to go to school here every day.

台南で適当回っている時に撮った写真を今日載せようと。最初は「立人」小学校の一枚。この小学校は日本時代に設立されて、当時は「寶公學校」だった。この建物は後日の1938年に建てられた。すごく格好良くて、ここに毎日通っている子供達が羨ましい。

有一家飯館，我覺得樣子有趣拍照了。名叫赤崁璽樓。我沒有吃過，不知道是否好吃，但是建築很美麗。

There's a restaurant in the back of the photo called Chuhkahnsheelow.  I've never been there, so I have no idea if it's any good, but the building is pretty cool.

奥に赤崁璽樓という名前のレストランがある。行ったことはないので、美味しいかどうか分からないが、建物が面白い。

我以為這棟是房子，但有可能是廟。

I thought this was someone's really red house, but there's a temple-like roof in the back, so it's probably part of a temple.

聽到「ㄉㄨㄉㄨ」，英文是母語的人就會想到「doo-doo」。意思就是「大便」。

台南的三山國王廟。查網路好像雖然在台三山國王廟不少可是這座是在歷史上很重要的。1742年就建成所以在台灣三山國王廟當中是比較早起的。我不熟，可是它的建法按照潮州式的，所以在台灣尤其台南難得看到。以前我以為台南甚麼客家都沒有，所以發現這座廟是客家建的就嚇了一跳。

Here's Sanshangwowang Temple.  There are actually a number of temples with this name in Taiwan, but this is one of the oldest.  It was built in 1742 by Hakka merchants from Chowjoe.  It's name means something like "Three Mountain Kings", and the kings/mountains referred to are three mountains in Chowjoe and their associated gods.

これは台南の三山国王廟。三山国王は潮州にある三つの山とその山に関連する神をちなんでいるので、台湾の場合は広東から移民してきた客家がこう言う廟を建てたわけだ。台南にはあまり客家がいないと思うので、客家の廟があると聞いて吃驚した。でもそれだけじゃない。三山国王廟は台湾に沢山あるが、ここの廟がその中に一番歴史があるかもしれない。１７４２年にこの辺の商人が建てた。台南の多くの廟と建築方式が違うため、雰囲気が落ち着いて、私は気に入った。

This temple is done in a different architectural style from most in Tainan, and it's overall look is very muted in comparison to other temples here.  I actually really like it and I think it's one of the more beautiful temples I've seen here in Tainan.

「瓶」と平和の「平」の発音が一緒だから、ドアが瓶の形している。

這座的顏色很婉約，是我比較喜歡的方式。

建物はちょっと整備されていない様な感じがするが、それは逆に歴史感じさせる。もちろん、修理していないから悪影響が出ることを避けてほしいが、下手に修理して欲しくない。あまりにも綺麗でピカピカになったら、それも残念だと思う。

有一些地方壞破了，但是反而這樣比較有歷史感。要是對建築沒有壞影響的話，我覺得不用修理太多。
我在台南感覺都沒有看過這麼壞掉的廟。有時候在有的鄉下會看到這樣的廟。因為那邊以前發展得很好可是現在人口少了經濟在衰退。但為什麼在台南市區的廟情況是這樣？也是政府指定的古蹟。沒有人想改善嗎？

There are some areas that seem to be falling apart a bit.  I was surprised because it's unusual to see a temple in this condition in a big city like Tainan.  Sometimes rural areas where the population has dwindled will have places like this, but I don't think I've seen another temple in this condition in Tainan.  The thing is though, I feel like the weathered paint and exposed brick actually really compliment the tempered aesthetic of the temple.  I don't want the building to get damaged, but as long as it presents no danger to the building, I'd prefer it if they didn't fix it up too much.

三山國王廟的氣氛非常好。也是在台南廟當中很有特色的一座。很值得去參觀一下。

I was really impressed by the feel of Sanshangwowang Temple.  I'd definitely recommend going here and checking it out.  It's probably one of my favorites in Tainan.
