Tie Non: Bumming 'round Pingtung / 屏東でぶらぶら / 在屏東飆車

幾個禮拜前我去屏東玩。因為我想看一些鄉鎮，所以我先去屏東市租車。一出後站就看到這座「新屏東大旅社」。哪「新」？

I went to Pingtung a couple of weeks back and rented a scooter in Pingtung City so that I could see some of the surrounding smaller towns.

最近屏東に行ってきた。屏東市でバイクを借りて、周りの田舎町を見てきた。屏東駅の裏から出たら、この全然新しくなさそうな「新屏東ホテル」が目に入った。

我建議大家都近期去看屏東火車站。現在很有趣。新的車站已經開方了，但以前的還沒拆除完。你可以看到很難得看到的風景。

Pingtung Station is in an interesting state now. They've opened a new station building, but they haven't finished destroying the old building yet, and you actually have to pass through it on the way out of the station.

屏東駅は今新しい駅舎ができて利用されている。でも前の駅舎がまだ残っているので、前の出口を使う時はその駅舎を通るのだ。面白い風景が見えるからこのままにしてほしいが、、、

我租車先回高雄一下。是因為有事。

And we're off! This is some random river I photoed for some reason while I was at a stop light.

バイク借りて行こう！

在29號路旁我看到這棟好大的建築物。我想看更清楚，但是一進去，就看到野狗，馬上放棄了。

There was some big, old building here along route 29 just over the river from Pingtung. (I had an errand that brought me back into Kaohsiung for a bit.) I wanted to check it out more, but there was a stray dog, so I got scared and didn't.

ちょっとした用事があって、高雄に戻って２９号の道を北上していた時、この建物見えた。（写真は南下している時）もっと見たかったけど、グラウンドに入ってみたら、野良犬がおって、勇気なくなった。

在屏東第一個去看的是潮州鎮。因為我想看這個「屏東戲曲故事館」。裡面的展示物沒有那麼興趣可是建築物是一棟很厲害的日時代的。

Here's the first place where I actually stopped and looked around. It's a town south-east of Pingtung City called Chow Joe. This is the "Pingtung Museum of Traditional Theater". (屏東戲曲故事館: Pingtung Shee Choo Goo Sh Gwahn）They had a display of puppets inside which was ok I guess, but I came here to see the building itself mostly. It's a handsome and well-preserved leftover from the Japanese era.

潮州という町でちょっとぶらぶらした。まずはこの「屏東戯曲故事館」を見たかったのだ。（リンクはその館の情報じゃなくて、潮州のウィキページだけど、やっぱりトップの写真がこの建物になっている。故事館のリンクはこちら。）これは日本時代の郵便局で、最近は芸術に関する文化センターに変えられた。中の展示物はまあまあだったけど、建物自体は見る価値が十分ある。

雖然前面是紅磚但後面是木。

An unusual feature is that, while the front of the building is brick, the back is wood.

我離潮州用屏77號南下。途中看到一棟很大的房子。

After leaving Chow Joe, I continued south along Pingtung Route 77 in order to go to a place that makes good cheesecake. I spotted this old house from the road.

潮州を離れて、屏東７７号で南下し、チーズケーキの美味しい店に行く途中でこの家を見かけた。

好像是廢墟。很可惜。

It looks abandoned, which is too bad since it's a very impressive building.

這邊老家很多。

There were lots of old homes in the area.

この辺に古い家がたくさんあった。

And fields of...uh...plants.

農場で働いているおばあちゃん達。

農場也很多。

接下來，我用屏187號北上。我覺得這座路邊的廟蠻好看。

Some roadside temple. It was nothing particularly special, but I thought it was a nice-looking one. I think at this point I was heading north-east on Pingtung Route 187 towards the town of Wahn Lwahn.

屏東１８７号を使って北上している時、この路側にある廟を見かけた。

カオスの中に廟がポツンと座っている。ザ台湾って感じ。

在風平浪經的廟週邊，都是關於交通或通訊的設備。我認為這種擠滿感很代表台灣。

There's something very Taiwan about the chaos of it all, with wires crisscrossing above, and yellow lines crisscrossing below, and traffic lights and signage all over, and the temple is sitting calmly in the middle of it all.

我通過萬巒，用屏111號到了五溝。這裡不但老家多為了告訴觀光客也有看板寫老家的歷史。

After passing through Wahn Lwahn, I continued on the Pingtung Route 111 up to the town of Ooh Go. There's a collection of well-signed historic homes in this town.

萬巒（ワンルヮン）という町を通過し、屏東１１１号を使って五溝（ウーゴー）という町に着いた。ここに古い家がたくさん集まっている。しかも観光客のためにしっかり看板を設備した。

If you enter this courtyard here, there's a large compound to the left.

門裡有祠堂。

The center building is an ancestral shrine.

この門を通って祠堂がある。

少見的石獅子。

Unusual guardian lions.

ちょっと変わったシーザー。

It appears the building here was originally built in 1864 by the local Han settlers. The compound was then expanded in 1921.

ここに住んでいる漢族が１８６４年にこの建物を建てて、１９２１増築したって。
