Continuing with my Orchid Island (Lanyu) trip.
These stone walls made me think of Okinawa.
There was this abandoned building. At first I thought it was a home, but I saw the Chinese word for "country" (as in "nation") in faded paint, and I thought that maybe it's actually an abandoned military structure.
Nearby were some wasp-like bugs.
I thought that these rocks looked like two frogs kissing.
I think the northern coast of the island was probably the most dramatic coast.
The island is very popular with divers.
I wanted to get a closer photo of the birds, but when I got too close, they flew away.
There is a lighthouse on the island. It's on top of a mountain a couple hundred meters tall, so it's apparently the highest lighthouse in all of Taiwan.
Unfortunately, this one is closed to visitors. I had to stand outside the gate and take photos.
The lighthouse at dusk.
While I was eating dinner, this cat came to visit.
I went out again early the next morning.
Wait, that's not just a rock, is it?
