Tainan Chinatown/台南の中国城/台南中國城

我到了台南以來，我對這座巨大建築感覺到好奇。最近才知道是三十多年前建的百貨公司，雖然以前很紅但現在只有一些商店還剩下。一看到就看得出來是台灣經濟最繁榮的那個時代建的。句句實話我認為它過度花俏。之後我想進去看看。

This building has interested me since I got to Tainan.  It's a big, old mall.  I found out recently that it was built back in the 80's, and that it was a big deal when it was put up, but it's mostly abandoned now except for a handful of holdout shops.  It's absurdly gaudy and totally out of scale with its surroundings.  Someday I need to go in and check it out.

この建物は台南に着いてから気になっている。８０年代に建てられたデパートで、以前はすごく繁盛していたのに、今はいくつかの店しか残っていないらしい。私はこの建物が日本のバブル時代の娯楽施設と同じ匂いがすると思う。なんか、とにかくでかくて派手だ。しかも余計にコンクリートが多い様な印象が残る。いつか入ってみたいと思う。
