I went to Foguangshan a little while back. Foguangshan is a huge Buddhist temple complex in Kaohsiung. Actually, it's so big in scale (and it even has all-vegetarian restaurants and museum exhibits!) that it feels more like a Buddhist-themed amusement park than a Buddhist temple.
仏光山に行って来た！高雄にあるお寺なんだけど、規模が本当にでかくて、展示物やレストランなどが中に入っているので、お寺より、仏教風な遊園地って感じがする。
我去高雄的佛光山。向來我都沒看過這麼大的寺廟。好像不是寺廟，是關於佛教的遊樂園。
Like everywhere in Taiwan, we begin our journey in a parking lot filled with scooters.

因為元宵節的關係，有舞獅。（對了，我每次聽到「元宵節」我把它聽成「元小姐」，就覺得「你說的人是誰？」。原來中文的聲調很難。
There were some museum exhibits of Buddhist art.
仏教の芸術品の展示もあった。
關於佛教的藝品。
"Do good deeds" "Speak well" "Have a good heart" I don't know why "Do good deeds" has a tomato on his head. I'm pretty sure that playing with your food and wearing it on your head is not good. You should eat your food.
「善くしよう」「善く話そう」「善い心を持とう」なぜかいいことをするお坊さんは頭にトマトを乗せた。本当は食べ物を遊んじゃだめやろ？
為甚麼「做好事」把番茄放在頭上？那並不是好事。

Lanterns up for the Lantern Festival (two weeks after Chinese New Year)
ランタンフェスティバル。旧お正月より二週間後。（日本なら、長崎には豪華なランタンフェスティバルがある。）
元小姐的花燈。不是！元宵節的花燈。
They had a bunch of white peacocks here too.

台湾の仏教はこう見て、日本のより大分派手だと思う。まあ、それはそうかもしれないが、ここは普通だというわけではない。仏光山は本当に特別だと思う。
