I finally have started classes here at Cheng Kung. They started on Monday. The students studying Mandarin here are a very international bunch. In my class alone I've met one person from Vietnam, one person from Indonesia, a couple from South Korea, a couple from Japan, and a guy from South Africa I think he said. It's nice that we have a mix because it means we actually have a bit more reason to use Mandarin with each other since there is no one, unifying native language. (With that said though, most of the students--though not all!--speak decent or even great English. English really is such a dominant language in today's world.)
学生の中で、日本人と韓国人が特に多いみたい。又、アメリカ人は案外少ない。既に日本語を話すチャンスが沢山有った。（でもちょっと気の毒だね。日本人の学生は俺と同じく、華語を勉強しにわざわざ台湾まで来らしたから、俺は勿論日本語で話しかけたいけど、ちょっと遠慮している。）
でも面白い事に、此の間津軽三味線を習っている台湾人の女性に会って、言語交流パトなーに成った。でも、英語／華語じゃなくて、日本語／華語だよ！俺は日本語の先生に成ってしまった！（一番難しいところは、会話の中「やけん」などの長崎弁を使わない事だ。思いっきり言ってしまうなぁ。）
日本語の先生になったんだ。
