Continuing from last time's post, here we are at the former Cishan train station.
前回の続き、ここは旗山の（元）駅舎だ。
繼續旗山的旅行：這裡是旗山車站。
Like I said in the last post, Cishan is known for its bananas, so there was this banana-skate-board-monkey thing out front.
旗山はバナナが有名なので、このバナナスケートボードに乗っている猿がおった。
我忘記了，旗山產生甚麼東西？阿，香蕉！謝謝，香蕉滑板猴子！

Here's the station manager's break room. It has a raised floor, in Japanese style. This was probably a place for the station manager to take off his shoes and relax, and maybe even take a nap.
和式の駅長の休息室。
驛（站）長的休息室。這座車站是日本時代建的，所以這間房間是日式的。
The store in the station uses this space to store extra items.
今は倉庫になっている。
現在驛長休息室是土產品藏的。
This brick out back had "TR" on it, which I assume is for "Taiwan Railways", though they usually use "TRA" for "Taiwan Railways Administration".
「TR」はたぶん「台湾レール」の略だと思う。
雖然現在平常是「TRA」，但是「TR」應該是「臺灣鐵路」的意思吧？
I'm guessing that this is where the tracks used to pass by.
線路はたぶんここ通ったのだろうと思う。
因為這裡沒有房子，所以我猜應該以前鐵路通過這裡。
Here's the station from the back. This is the platform where you would wait for the train.

旗山は何が有名だったのっけ？
旗山產生香蕉。你知道嗎？
東京といえば「森ビル」だ。旗山は「林ビル」なのかな？
I saw this gate and started whistling the theme song to "The Addams Family".
Only the facade remains on this building.
好看的外牆。房子沒有了很可惜，，，
A small bridge built in 1953. They wrote the year in this stupid, self-wanking Republic-of-China-Year system that the government loves to use. 1912, the year the Republic of China was founded, is year 1. All money in Taiwan is printed with this system, so any coins or bills made this year will have "Year 103" on them.
They have a similarly silly system in Japan, except that it's even more frustrating because the year resets to 1 every time one of their emperors croaks and a new one takes the throne. I guess it gives people a reason to remember the emperor exists?
この小さい橋は「中華民国４２年」に作られた。中華民国は１９１２年に建国されたので、中華民国年号は偶々日本の大正の年号と北朝鮮の「主体暦」年号とかぶっている。しかし、大正と違って、民国年号はずっと続いているので、今年はもう１０３年になっている。
私の個人的な意見を正直に言わせて貰う：こういう年号はめんどうくさくて、全く意味がないので、本当に辞めて欲しい。皆さん、アメリカに行って、私達が粘って、まだ使用しているフィートとか、ファーレンハイトとか、慣れにくいと思わない？外国人が日本に行って、今年は平成何年覚えるのも嫌がっているよ。台湾の民国年号はずっと続くので、まだいい方だ。日本は天皇が死んだら、また「元年」から始まるというのが特にめんどうくさい。やめましょうね。
有一條小小的橋梁，是民國四十二做的。我跟你們說，民國年記得很麻煩，也沒有意思。戒除民國年好吧？只有西元還夠了，對吧？有很多人說美國還使用的「美製單位」很麻煩。我承認這件事。我們美國人應該跟世界標準合起來，開始使用「公制」。我承認我們自己的制度很麻煩，所以我想臺灣承認民國年也沒有用，再也不要使用。好吧？
All of the other electric poles on this street were plain, concrete tubes. Only this one was slightly fancy.

There's a park in Cishan on a hill overlooking the town. At the top is a temple.
最後に、旗山を見下ろす公園に登ってみた。山の上に廟もあるので、公園の入り口にこういう狛犬がいた。

And that's it for my photos of Cishan. It was pretty hot last week when I went (like summer it was!) so by this time we were beat from walking around in the sun like morons. See you again next post!
先週は本当に暑くて、日差しが強くて、この時点では私達はもう死にそうだったので、廟から離れた後はそのまま高雄に行った。またね！
