Okinawa Trip 2013/

I went to Okinawa!  Again!  I've been there, what, 6 times or so by now, but whatever, I love the place.
In Taoyuan Airport in Taipei I saw this sticker for Palau Airways.  The entire country of Palau has just a couple 10 thousand people, so I was surprised to find out that they even have an airline.

Drivers for the Naha (the biggest city in Okinawa) City monorail.  Their uniforms are really cute.

Guys cleaning windows.  I've never seen a big group of them doing it all at once like this before.

Why is there Manischewitz in Okinawa?  There can't be more than like, 3 Jewish people there.  Is there any reason to drink Manischewitz if you're not Jewish?  I was always led to believe that it is foul, sweet, nasty stuff.  (Though I'll admit that I've never actually drunk it.)  On the other hand, it is placed next to "Blueberry Wine" and "Akadama" wine (an old brand in Japan that is sickly sweet and only enjoyed by old people who remember when that was the only wine you could get in Japan) so maybe Manischewitz has found a target consumer amongst people who drink sweet, disgusting wines like Akadama.
Near the Himeyuri Peace Museum they have this light tower.  The Himeyuri Peace Museum is named after a group of female students and teachers who were mobilized by the Japanese government during WWII.  Most of them were killed in the American invasion of Okinawa.

Afterwards, we went to a nearby, local light show.

Itoman has always been a port town.  Going way back, and even in the present, people in Itoman went far off into the ocean in their boats to fish.

They might have caught fish like this!

 And encountered sharks like this!

 Fairground rides
That's it for the first day.  (It was only half a day really anyway.)  I have a lot more photos to come!
