Gowmay Lighthouse / 高美灯台 / 高美燈塔

台中港離開之後就去參觀高美燈塔。1982年台中港燈塔是建的。當時因為高美燈塔離台中港很近所以停止運作把高美燈塔的燈光機器搬到台中港在那裡的燈塔設備。但這麼漂亮的燈塔廢墟太浪費了！現在燈塔當成觀光資源。

After leaving Taichung Port and the lighthouse there (see previous post), I headed to the nearby Gowmei (高美) lighthouse.  This lighthouse is no longer operational.  It was stopped in 1982 and the lighting equipment was moved to the Taichung Port lighthouse.  However, true to its name, it is both tall and beautiful, and so it has been kept as a tourist attraction.  (The characters in its name mean "tall" and "beautiful" respectively.)  The nearby tidal flats are also very beautiful and a tourist attraction on their own.

高美灯台は前回のポストの台中港灯台からちょっとしか離れていない。1982年に台中港灯台ができた時に高美灯台が閉鎖された。しかも高美灯台の電灯をそのまま台中港灯台に移して設置したそうだ。でも名前通り高美灯台は美しくて、浅海を聳え立っている姿が立派なので、廃墟ならずに観光資源として利用されることになった。

I stopped first to get some photos of the sea with wind power plants in the background.  Stunning!

在燈塔後面奇奇怪怪的建築是關於水道局的。我不知道為何是這樣做的。

Here's the lighthouse itself.  The strange building behind it is some sort of water agency building.  God knows why they made it to look like that.

燈塔前面都是淺海。也有一條步道橋，受到觀光客的歡迎。

And nearby are some tidal flats and a walkway out on top of them.
