Art Deco Taichung / アールデコ台中 / 裝飾風藝術之台中

在台中站附近有兩棟房子是裝飾風藝術的方式。一棟是前台中放送局。建於1935年，現在變成博物館了。

There are a couple of nice Art Deco (at least I think they're Art Deco) buildings in Taichung.  One is the old Taichung Broadcasting Bureau.  This building was built in 1935, originally as a radio broadcasting building.  It's used now as a museum.

台中にはアールデコの建物が駅から二軒近くにある。一軒は元台中放送局のビルだ。1935年に建てたこの建物は現在博物館として利用されている。

It looks like the house of a Hollywood star from the 1930's.

在燈籠上有日本的年號：大正七年和昭和五年。

This Japanese-style stone lantern has two dates on it that read "Taisho 7" and "Showa 5".  Showa and Taisho are Japanese imperial reigns.

離放送局很近有前宮原房子。宮原是一位日本的醫生，他的醫院後來變成宮原眼科了。這棟房子是1929年建立的。

Nearby is another building from around the same era.  This building was built in 1929, and it was actually built as a private residence for a local doctor, Takekuma Miyahara.  Miyahara is probably better known for the building that was his office, which is now a famous pineapple cake store.

近くに宮原先生の家がある。宮原先生と言ったら、パイナップルケーキ屋さんの宮原眼科が元々彼の医院だったのだ。戦後、この家が台中市長の家になった。

この一軒は１９２９年建立。
