Quemoy Day 5: Bye bye!/

Here are the photos from my last day in Quemoy.  There wasn't much time, so after looking around a bit at the buildings in Shanhou, where we stayed, we went back to the airport to go home to Tainan.

I thought this list in the photo above was interesting.  There was a folk custom in China back in the day where parents would leave a bunch of objects in front of their crawling toddler.  Whatever object the child picked up first was a sign of what their life would be like later.  If they picked up a leek, they would be smart, if they picked up a sword, they would become either a soldier or a police officer.

There were some art pieces in the airport.
After spending a couple days in Quemoy where there was no shortage of homes with ROC flags on them, and huge posters everywhere supporting KMT candidates for office, I thought it was funny that the first thing I saw upon getting back to Tainan train station was a pro-Taiwanese independence demonstration.  The two places are a world apart!
That's it for Quemoy!  I hope you all had fun looking at the photos!
